Synopsis:

Brooklyn James should know better.

Born into Hollywood royalty, the brooding prince has a reputation as being a player. A manwhore. A womanizer.

Adoring fans are his thing.

His best friend’s little sister is not.

Even thinking about her the way he is isn’t cool.

Not cool at all.

And yet every time she pouts those sexy lips at him, she turns him inside out. Makes him harder than he’s ever been. Drives him to the brink of insanity.

Amelia Waters has always idolized her big brother, and the last thing she wants to do is disappoint him.

Falling for her brother’s ex-roommate is off-limits.

She knows this, but she can’t help herself.

The way Brooklyn looks at her with those smoldering blue eyes makes her wet in an instant. Turns her into a shivering, shaking mess of sexual frustration. And soon the idea of spreading her legs for him is the only thing she can think about.

She wants him.

He wants her.

When they finally decide to give in to their insane attraction, they agree it will remain between them. That their illicit affair will be short-term. No strings. No baggage. No messy ending.

But when the first night of mind-blowing sex leads to another, and another still, how long can the endless hookups go on before Amelia’s brother finds out? Or worse yet, before feelings develop?

Brooklyn and Amelia know they need to walk away from each other before either of those things happens.

The problem is doing it.

Talk about a mess.

Hollywood Prince is a sexy, standalone, contemporary romance about a bad boy and the off-limits girl who steals his heart.

DaisyGal’s Review:

Brooklyn James is the Prince of Hollywood. The son of movie star parents and a teenage star himself, but what has the Hollywood playboy become now that he’s all grown up?  Well, he’s a lifeguard, and he is desperately trying to get on the right path for his future and get his foothold in his career as a screenwriter.  Cam’s sister, Amelia, is gorgeous and everything he could hope for in a woman, but there’s no way he could be more to her than a secret affair. He has nothing to offer her as he has yet to make something of himself, and she deserves better than someone like him…

Amelia Waters wonders if she will ever find her Prince Charming, until she meets Mr. Right or more like Mr. Maybe…  She’s not sure, but she suddenly must leave him in New York to face her brother, Cam, regarding recent revelations about her family. There she runs into Cam’s best friend and the brooding Hollywood bad boy, Brooklyn James.  There is definite attraction there, but he is Mr. Wrong and certainly not the one for her. The problem is he makes her happy, makes her feel whole, and she really wants him…

She’s found two princes… Is it possible that the Hollywood Prince could be Amelia’s Mr. Right after all?

This is such a fun, sweet, and passionate romance! True to all of Kim Karr’s books, the story was fresh and unique, and I really enjoyed the theme which involved the movies, screenwriting, and growing up in the footsteps of Hollywood stars. It was told in a charming fairytale way which kept the story light hearted, and from beginning to end, this is the perfect feel good read to leave you with a smile on your face!

Both Brooklyn and Amelia’s characters were created in such a way that I just felt the need to know them better and find out what made them tick. Neither were the typical stereotypes of ‘Miss Goody Two Shoes’ and the ‘Bad Boy’ that they were perceived to be – there was much more to both of them.  Amelia was tired of being the perfect princess, and Brooklyn wasn’t supposed to have or be capable of having feelings like that towards Amelia.  Although they tried to keep their feelings at bay, they had such undeniable draw and emotion between them that they just couldn’t stay apart.  Brooklyn and Amelia had some serious passion built up in this story, and the alternating POV really helped to convey their intense feelings for each other.

The only things that I might have questioned would be the ‘sneaking around’ at their age, but I get it. Even at my ripe old age, I’m not sure I would want my brother to know if I was in a sexual affair with not only a typical bad boy but his best friend as well, and this is a story after all!

My favorite things about Karr’s writing are the intimate touches of wit and the nuances that she places within her stories. When Amelia and Brooklyn were young they had a fairytale wedding in which Amelia was ‘Princess Amelia’ and Brooklyn was ‘Sir Towhead’, and as they grew up Brooklyn adopted the title of ‘Pantydropper’ from his friends. The nicknames were fun and really personalized the characters even more, and I love how she’ll create chapter titles named from movies and often includes songs and music in her stories as well. She really succeeds in engaging and relating to her readers, sharing pieces of herself with them, and her books are just so enjoyable to read!

Hollywood Prince is a win-win for me, and ‘Sir Towhead’ and ‘Princess Amelia’ have totally won my heart! I highly recommend this read, and if you haven’t picked up ‘No Pants Required’ and ‘Bedwrecker’, then you definitely should.  Although these can all be read as standalones, all the characters are interconnected and make up a wonderful family of friends that you are sure to enjoy.  I have loved getting to know all of them and look forward to Chase’s story which is coming soon!
