Honor by Melissa Ellen is Now Available!
Melissa Ellen’s characters and stories always steal my heart, but this suspenseful read kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end!
There are three reasons that will get you killed by the hands of your own family.
Three rules.
They are simple.
Don’t disobey an order.
Don’t betray your family.
And don’t touch a made man’s girl.
For her, I’ll break them all.
With its mafia storyline and one twist after another, Honor, the first standalone romance in Melissa Ellen’s new Made Trilogy, kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end!
‘The woman who stared back at me was not the same woman I’d fought hard to hold on to over the years. She was nothing but the shell of my former self.’
Lorena Moretti, or Lena, was promised to Lorenzo Ricci, the next in line to take over her father’s roll in the Italian mafia. She was also trapped in her families’ business with no hope of getting out. Lena’s character truly pulled on my heartstrings. I admired that she was strong-minded and courageous in trying to stand up for herself, but it wasn’t easy, and I despised how cruelly both her father and Lorenzo treated her and with so little regard.
‘There was only one rule I lived by: protect the ones I loved – my family – at all costs.’
Mario Leoni was a fantastic hero! I already admired his character as the Blackwood’s bodyguard from Ellen’s previous Blackwood Series, but I was so impressed by the loyalty and love he carried for Lena and his family in this story. Although Mario was incredibly strong and determined, I really questioned his ability to survive the situation he put himself in, but he proved himself tenfold to me at every step along the way!
‘Mario Leoni had always been mine. And I would always be his. My whole life was filled with lies and deceit. This was the one true thing I’d always known.’
Mario and Lena were so sweet and caring with each other, and simply put, destined to be together! With Mario’s families’ close ties to the mafia, he and Lena had grown up together, but when the military and his career took him away, Mario had to leave his heart behind. But now he was back for Lena, and with his calculated plan, more determined than ever to win her back. They really were perfect together, and their romance was so passionate, filling me with the hope that Mario’s plan would play out as it was designed!
‘I was a soldier first and always. In war, I vowed to do horrible things to save the people I loved. This was my war. And I’d win it with skill, not luck.’
Ellen did a superb job in balancing this complex storyline out, and it was very intriguing with many mysterious layers and surprises at every turn. It seemed a little slow to me at first, but it was necessary to set the stage for the suspenseful read that was coming my way. The ending, wow! I didn’t see that coming at all, and I would also like to thank Melissa Ellen for the two epilogues that provided the remaining answers and the super sweet happily ever after that I was hoping for!
I really enjoyed all of the secondary characters in the story as well, so now I’m curious to know whose story will be next in this series… Perhaps the tough as nails Agent Rhodes and Declan or Eric? I’m not sure, but I am intrigued and really looking forward to more of this series!

~ Melissa Ellen ~
I am an indie author that focuses on contemporary romance with a little bit of everything: humor, angst and sometimes suspense. A Reason To Stay, book one of the Blackwood Series, was my debut novel.
I grew up as a book worm, reading anything and everything and still try to read at least a book a week. I’ve always had an active imagination. Luckily, I now have time to put it to good use into stories that are constantly swarming around in my head.
When I’m not writing, you can find me working on architecture projects, buried in a book with a cup of coffee, playing with my adorable son, laughing with my hot husband, or tackling my latest DIY project (and by that I mean putting my hot husband to work).
