College student, Sabrina Lind is completely enamored and obsessed with the wealthy and incredibly sexy, Weston King, the son of the owner of one of the world’s largest investment firms. She fantasizes about what it would be like to be with someone like him but knows that he would never want to be like someone like her. She is far from wealth and the glamorous lifestyle and only at Cambridge because of her scholarship and her father’s life savings.
Almost to the point of ‘stalkerishly,’ she watches him from afar at a party one night with another random girl. As her curiosity gets the better of her, she sneaks behind him and his hook up for the evening and follows them to his room. Completely consumed and unable to pull herself away from the doorway and watching them in bed together, she is caught in the act by Donovan Kincaid, Weston’s roommate and good friend. He is older than both of them, her teacher’s assistant for one of her classes, and in his very gruff manner, very clear in letting her know that Weston would never even look her way. Donovan then makes her an offer, then he rescues her, and when she finally catches Weston’s eye, she questions who it is that she really wants. However, she never gets the chance to figure it out when life throws her a curveball that changes everything.
This prequel novella was a great start to Laurelin Paige’s newest Dirty Filthy Rich Series! With her truly angsty writing style, she offers a rather dark, super steamy, and possibly wicked story. Then that damn epilogue – ugh! Of course it just left me on the edge of my seat with knots in my stomach and wanting more. It flashes forward 10 years and prepares for the follow up, ‘Filthy Rich Men,’ which is coming on March 27th! Can’t wait!
