Synopsis:

She uses her fame as a wall around her heart, and only he can tear it down.

Seth Rafferty knows Heather Wainwright’s type.

Demanding. Check.

Self-important. Check.

Leggy and blonde. Yeah, he knows the drill.

He’s been a Hollywood production designer far too long to have patience for A-listers with a superior attitude. Beautiful women with a chip on their shoulder are a dime a dozen.

Which is why his obsession with Heather makes no sense. Nothing about her is attractive.

Except the vulnerability under the sass. The honesty under the attitude.

So when wrap-party flirting gets carried away, Seth doesn’t stop it from turning into a sizzling night of passion. Too late, he realizes, one night isn’t going to get her out of his system.

On to plan B: uncover the real woman under the diva.

Soon Heather will find out that Seth isn’t just a simple carpenter she can use and lose without consequences. He’ll play the part of the builder, but it’s her walls he intends to break down.

DaisyGal’s Review:

I always enjoy a good Hollywood romance, and Star Struck (Hollywood Heat, #2) is just another wonderful example of Laurelin Paige’s versatility in writing. Although written as a standalone, it is the follow up to Sex Symbol (Hollywood Heat, #1), which was previously released in 2015 in her Lights, Camera Series. Star Struck is a light-hearted and sexy read, with a bit of a rags to riches type story of overcoming your past and accepting yourself.

I am always intrigued by the Hollywood lifestyle. It just amazes me all that actors have to endure at the expense of their fame. Paige did a great job of pulling me into this complicated world – full of secrets, lies, and never knowing who you can trust. The story was suspenseful, as secrets were revealed throughout, and the dual point of views really helped bring even more complexity into play.

Seth and Heather were quite playful with their push and pull and shared some super sexy moments. However, I must admit that I really struggled with an emotional connection to their characters and relationship. While there were definitely reasons for Heather’s shallow façade, I didn’t really feel that she had many redeeming qualities underneath. Seth’s character was definitely more appealing and genuine, and I certainly admired his determination in pursuing her. However, other than his attraction to her, I just didn’t feel much more depth to their relationship. I was also disappointed that he felt he had to hide his ‘secret’ from her for so long.

I absolutely loved Lexi’s character in the story! As Heather’s personal assistant, she definitely had her hands full with her. She took it in stride and maintained a fun sense of humor in trying to placate her and keep Heather in check. I really felt compassionate for her, and definitely intrigued by her strong loyalty and support of her. I would love to read a follow up story about her in the future!

While this wasn’t my favorite of Laurelin Paige’s books, Star Struck would be good for readers looking for a quick, light, and sexy romance. I really did enjoy the Hollywood escape!

About Laurelin Paige:

USA Today and New York Times Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She’s also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn’t do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman.
