Dirty Filthy Fix is a short novella in Laurelin Paige’s Fixed Series, and there was certainly some steam flying off of these pages with this read!
I like sex. Kinky sex. The kinkier the better.
Every day, it’s all I think about as I serve coffee and hand out business agendas to men who have no idea I’m not the prim proper girl they think I am.
With a day job as the secretary to one of New York’s most powerful men, Hudson Pierce, I have to keep my double life quiet. As long as I do, it’s not a problem.
Enter: Nathan Sinclair. Tall, dark and handsome doesn’t come close to describing how hot he is. And that’s with his clothes on. But after a dirty, filthy rendezvous, I accept that if we ever see each other again, he’ll walk right by my desk on his way to see my boss without recognizing me.
Only, that’s not what happens. Not the first time I see him after the party. Or the next time. Or the time after that. And as much as I try to stop it, my two worlds are crashing into each other, putting my job and my reputation at risk.
And all I can think about is Nathan Sinclair.
All I can think about is getting just one more dirty, filthy fix.

During the work week, Trish Bisceglia is the innocent and hardworking secretary for the high-powered Hudson Pierce. However, she has certain ‘tastes’ that lead her to frequent the Open Door on her Saturday nights. She’s certainly not looking for a relationship – those are too complicated. So, when she meets Nathan Sinclair at one of the parties, she is completely thrown off to be so captivated by the extremely handsome masked man. It’s all very simple for Nathan. He knows he wants her in every way. Could there be a compromise for this sexually adventurous pair to have a future together?
Trish was very confident and definitely a determined woman in this story. She knew exactly what she wanted and wasn’t willing to give an inch to change up her ‘rules’ for any man. Nate was sweet and charming, and although he won me over, he had a much more difficult time with Trish. He was incredibly patient with giving her the space she needed to figure things out and still be true to herself. I was glad that Nate pretty much won out in the end, but I did feel that Trish was a bit greedy with getting her way.
The story is a combination of Paige’s Fixed Series and Dirty Filthy Rich Love, which must be checked out if you haven’t already. Honestly, I loved getting a little more Hudson Pierce in this story as well. This is my first 1001 Dark Nights Series read, which are inspired from The Arabian Nights: Tales from 1001 Nights, with novellas added monthly to the series and all from different authors. I am of the understanding that some of the stories are darker, some funnier, and even some paranormal romance. I guess I need to check more of these out!
The story was well written and fast paced, and overall, I enjoyed this story. I do have a habit of always wanting more when I read novellas, but that’s just me. However, I couldn’t help but feel that there was more to Nate’s intriguing character, so I do wish to have known more about him in this story. There weren’t any major twists in this, although there is definitely a lot of kinky business going on. You might want to have a fan handy for this short and steamy novella!

NY Times & USA Today Bestselling author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She is represented by Rebecca Friedman and Friedman Literary. You can find out more about her on her website here.
