This is my favorite kind of romance! Fun, oh-so-passionate, and incredibly romantic, Wanderlust just had it all! Lauren Blakely captured every single one of my emotions in this intoxicating and dreamy journey of following your heart and finding yourself along with your true love, and there is no better place for this to happen than in the ‘City of Love’ itself!

Joy and Griffin are definitely one of my favorite storybook couples that I’ve found. They were so easy going and relatable, and I loved their zest for life!

Joy’s character was brave, bold, and honest. I loved how she took on her career, life, and later Griffin, like a bull by the horns. She was at that point in her life where it was time for her to take charge and live it the way she wanted. Like Joy, I am also from Texas, and I could definitely sympathize with her feeling awkward and overwhelmed at times while in Paris, especially since she wasn’t able to speak French fluently!

I’ve officially decided that Griffin Thomas is my new Book Boyfriend. Yes, I’m claiming him, and he is mine! British accent, well-educated, honest, charismatic, charming, thoughtful, sweet, sexy as hell (I had an incredible visual in my mind of what he looked like)… I really could go on forever with how adorable and amazing his character was, but pretty much, if I was to take all of my favorite male characteristics and wrap them in a big red bow, that would be Griffin!

Joy and Griffin just complemented each other perfectly! He was such an incredible flirt and she was so uninhibited, and their playful and witty banter together was so fun to follow. They were completely enamored with each other, yet I loved how unassuming their relationship was. As work colleagues, then friends, and later as lovers, they admired and respected each other, and their only expectations were for each other’s happiness.

This kiss is the reason kissing was invented. This kiss is the sky breaking open. It’s why we run through the airport to stop a plane.

The build of desire and passion between Joy and Griffin was off the charts, because seriously, these two were meant to be together! That being said, there were definitely challenges and complexity to Joy’s relationship with her handsome Englishman. Parts of their journey completely broke my heart, but it soared with happiness for them in the end!

Lauren Blakely has completely outdone herself with her writing in this story! I loved this unique storyline, which was incredibly fun, adventurous, and romantic. The story had so much personality with the way Blakely incorporated her witty humor along with her funny little nuances to make me smile. It was full of passion and emotion, perfectly placed to pull at my heartstrings, give me all the feels, and then completely capture my heart. Blakely’s descriptive writing captured all of the sights and sounds to bring the setting in Paris to life. I felt as if I could taste and smell all of the lovely flavors that she placed on every page, and her beautiful poetic prose made the story even more dreamy!

I purchased the audiobook when it was released back in February as an Audible Original and then received the ARC in March, so I was actually able to listen and read them together. The audiobook is narrated by Richard Armitage and Grace Grant, and I hadn’t listened to either of them before. I can also be pretty fickle when it comes to audiobooks, but they did an amazing job of telling this story and bringing it to life! There was so much expression in their voices, which really conveyed all of the wonder and the excitement of travel, adventure, and falling in love. If you are able to get both, I highly recommend doing so, and there is also a great little interview at the end of the audiobook with Lauren Blakely on how she came up with the storyline for Wanderlust!

Gosh, this is the longest review ever, and I realize that it is filled with all kinds of emotions and a whole lot of adjectives, but I really can’t help myself. Reading Wanderlust just made me incredibly happy! I swear I went through the whole gamut of emotions in the story, not in the oh-so-angsty way but in the amazingly-feel-good way. Lauren Blakely totally whisked me away and made me feel as if I was on this truly fun, whimsical, and completely romantic journey myself!

I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it!

AND… Christian and Elise’s story is releasing on June 4^th in Part-Time Lover, which I am definitely looking forward to as well!

Forget oysters. Screw candlelight and champagne. A sexy accent is the truest aphrodisiac. I’m talking a weak-in-the-knees, flutters-all-over, fast-track to euphoria.

I’ve tried to analyze precisely why the sound of a man’s words can elicit this reaction in, frankly, millions of women. But when I break down an accent and study it like a chemical reaction, it’s nearly impossible to draw a logical conclusion. The ingredients in and of themselves don’t seem swoontastic enough.

And yet, accents have been known to induce major swooning.

That’s why, in my professional opinion, the sounds aren’t the rocket fuel for the tingles. Instead, it’s the associations evoked. Italian is food, wine, and days drenched in the pleasures of the senses. Australian is the laid-back twang of a surfer. A Southern drawl says a man will take his sweet time. Oh, yes, darlin’, will he ever.

But British? Dear God. A delicious British accent to my oh-so-American ears triggers wave after wave of goose bumps across my skin. My knees wobble. My stomach swoops. My skin heats. All the turned-on centers in my body are cranked to high.

A British accent is James Bond in a bottle. It’s sex, it’s style, it’s sophistication, and it’s the man who’ll find his way out of any jam, save the damsel, and do it all with silver cuff links on.

Wait. Make that platinum.

Charmed, indeed.

That’s why I say it’s a damn good thing I’m moving to a country that won’t be chock full of my personal vocal kryptonite, since I don’t have the time or inclination for distractions in my life right now. Look, I don’t have a single problem with the French accent whatsoever. A hot French man can voulez-vouscoucher avecmoi, if you know what I mean.

But it’s a British accent that turns me to Silly Putty, so in Paris I’ll be mighty fine.

Then, I meet him.
