From USA Today bestselling author Tia Louise comes a stand-alone love story about revenge and redemption.
My finest trick?
Making you think I’ve forgotten…
Names on a list.
Faces in a crowd.
One little girl.
He told me to get over it, let it go.
I can’t do that.
I want them to pay.
Every.
Last.
One.

Molly’s complex character was such a conundrum! She was caring and incredibly loyal to those she loved, yet she was also a killer, determined to make those who had done her and others she loved wrong pay. Molly’s incredibly sad past resulted in her being a bomb of resentment, waiting to go off when lines were crossed, and she had absolutely no remorse for actions. I really had so many mixed emotions about Molly, but I could still sympathize with her character. For everything that could be construed as bad about her, she really did have a good heart, and I enjoyed seeing her character soften throughout the story.
Joshua was pretty amazing and incredibly patient in dealing with Molly’s walls and barriers. Although he knew she had dark shadows in her past, Joshua still appreciated and loved her for who she was. I was really surprised that he was so easy-going and didn’t push her harder to share more about herself after being together for a year. However, I really admired his encouragement and unwavering support for Molly in setting up and funding the halfway house for teenage girls. In the end though, that generosity didn’t even compare to the understanding and acceptance that he needed when more about Molly was revealed.
Both Molly and Joshua were incredibly passionate and would clearly do anything for each other. They shared a stronger bond than either realized and were definitely pushed to their limits with the many obstacles that they had to endure throughout the story. Their well-deserved happily ever after was just the sweetest!
This was such a unique story, and it was very well written, fast-paced, and full of suspense from beginning to end. There were so many complex storylines coming together, and as they were unveiled throughout, I was really kept on the edge of seat. The dual point of views also helped enhance my feelings for Molly and her tumultuous past and Joshua for how pretty darn awesome he was!
While Hit Girl can certainly be read as a standalone, I feel it was just a sampling of all the intriguing relationships and history between Molly and Joshua and the many secondary characters in this story. I am still curious to know more about Molly’s backstory as well. I have not read and believe I will find the answers in the Bright Lights Duet which features Molly’s sister, Lara, and Mark’s story, and I look forward to picking them up next!

Wow, sounds like such an interesting read. I love a strong heroine, and lately, I’ve been wanting to read more kickas* strong heroines. Will def. check this one out 🙂
She was definitely a tough chick! You don’t usually find a heroine being the ‘hit girl’, so it was a different twist for sure. Happy Reading, and I hope you enjoy it! =D
