I’ve never had a guest want something I can’t give them. Until British businessman Hayden Wolf comes aboard—all sexy swagger and mysterious requests.
He wants me.

And Hayden Wolf’s a man who’s used to getting exactly what he demands.

Despite being serious and focused. Demanding and ruthless. He’s also charming when I least expect it as well as being devastatingly handsome with an almost irresistible smile.

But guests are strictly off limits and I’ve never broken a rule. Not even bent one. My family are depending on me and I can’t lose my job.

Only problem is Hayden Wolf is looking at me like I just changed his life. And he’s touching me like he’s about to change mine.

A standalone romance.

MyReviewLouise Bay is one of my favorite storytellers! She always writes the most creative and romantic tales complete with dreamy escapes and passionate embraces. Honestly, the cover and the synopsis for The Ruthless Gentleman sucked me in immediately… Superyachts? British businessman? Heck yeah! I really enjoyed this unique storyline, and the descriptive settings were amazing!

Hayden and Avery were both very genuine and kind-hearted characters. Although I wouldn’t necessarily describe Hayden as ruthless, he was certainly determined, which had made him an incredibly successful businessman. Avery was much like Hayden with her determination in her own career, and I thought her commitment to her family was very endearing.

I really enjoyed Hayden’s humor and wit in the story. He saw that there was much more behind Avery’s polite demeanor and incredible ‘arse’ that he was drawn to. Hayden was just what Avery needed to soften her ‘all business’ attitude and be the natural and carefree version of herself. In turn, Avery offered him the support and trust that he desperately needed in his life.

‘She was my sunset and sunrise. My choppy waters and my calm seas. My everything.’

Hayden and Avery really were such a great complement to each other, and I loved that they established a genuine friendship and mutual admiration for each other. Although Hayden and Avery fought their spark of attraction that ignited the moment they met on the superyacht, their slow burning sizzle soon became impossible to ignore. This put everything at risk that they had worked so hard for and held dear, including each other.

‘It was as if we were being drawn toward each other by an invisible current – I wanted to stop swimming against the pull and let myself drift toward him, but I knew that wasn’t an option.’

Louise Bay did a fantastic job in creating this unique storyline, and I’ve never read a story that takes place on a superyacht. It was very fun, and I loved the travel along the Italian Riviera! I especially enjoyed Avery’s visit and exploration along the streets of Taormina. I’ve always wanted to go there, and it felt as if I was sitting along with her at the amphitheater and in the piazza while overlooking Mount Etna. Bay’s descriptive writing and her settings were incredible and really pulled me into the story and took me away!

Bay always writes such passion into her stories and characters, making them completely consume me. However, I didn’t feel as strong of a connection to Hayden and Avery that I normally have in Bay’s previous books. Individually they were very likeable characters, and it might have been due to Avery keeping Hayden at such a distance throughout. The pace of their relationship seemed a little drawn out, but they had a steamy sizzle for sure!

Overall, this was a great story, and I really enjoyed the dreamy escape! Hayden and Avery shared a very sweet and romantic happily ever after, and I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a fun getaway and change of pace in your reading!

Abouttheauthor

USA Today bestselling author, Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books include the novels Faithful and Hopeful, The Empire State Series, Parisian Nights, Promised Nights, Indigo Nights, King of Wall Street and Duke of Manhattan.

Ruined by bonk-busters and sexy mini-series of the eighties Louise loves all things sexy and romantic. There’s not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.

Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.

She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!
