Honestly, I was a little fearful going in that Ollie’s story might kill me. I knew from the other books in the Fight for Me Series how his sister’s tragic disappearance had affected his friends and altered their lives’ forever. There hadn’t been many details about the brooding bartender though, so I could only imagine what his incredible loss would entail.

Oh, sweet Ollie! He was such a beautiful and broken man, lost, and living in the darkness that he thought he deserved after Sydney’s disappearance. I admired his determination and strength to protect his friends, vowing to never allow something bad to happen to any of them again. He loved fiercely, and it was heart wrenching that he held himself back from any happiness with his torment of self-punishment and regret.

That night, I’d lost both of them.

Sydney was gone, and Ollie had all but turned to stone. 

What made it hardest was there was no missing that huge, giving heart that he kept stunted.

Hidden in the darkest kind of shadows.

Nikki had an incredibly giving heart! I loved her charisma, and she was feisty as all get out. Although the world had hurt by stripping away the two people that she truly loved, I admired how she channeled her deep sorrow to try to move forward and make a difference in any way that she could.

Light brown, honeyed locks tumbled a few inches below her shoulders, her hair messy and wild and untamed.

Just like her personality.

As eager as her heart and as bright as her spirit.

Motherfucking sunshine.

There was never a couple that deserved each other more than Ollie and Nikki! The flashbacks of their past, where young love blossomed and then to see it taken away, were absolutely heartbreaking. Over the years, Nikki never gave up and was relentless in proving to Ollie that he was worthy of love. Lord knows that Ollie tried, but he just couldn’t resist her, and thank goodness, because they were perfect for each other! Their intense passion was off the charts and angsty, and I stayed up all night needing to know how Ollie and Nikki’s story would play out. Their happily ever after? Amazing! The bags under my eyes the next day? Totally worth it!

Never stop going after what makes your heart feel right…

A.L. Jackson’s stories are so full of emotion, and her writing is impeccable! She can weave such tragedy into her characters and storylines, completely engulfing me in their pain and anguish, sometimes even bringing me to tears. At the same time, she wraps me in comfort as she turns their heartbreak into such inspiring and heartwarming stories. She has such a beautiful and unique writing style with her poetic imagery that literally brings the ink on the paper to life. Her ability to do this is only one of the many reasons why her stories touch me the way that they do, and she truly is such a talented author!

I would almost dare to say that Lead Me Home is my favorite book by Jackson, but like choosing your favorite child, I’m not sure that would be fair. It could be read as a standalone, but it ties all of the storylines from the other books together and brings everything to light. Also, I would hate for you to miss getting to know all of these wonderful characters in this close-knit group of friends. I have grown to love all of them so much, and with all of their imperfections, loyalty, and support of each other, they are the true meaning of family!

I highly recommend this beautiful, deeply emotional, and consuming romance, and the Fight for Me Series is one that you will not want to miss!
