I know I’m late to the tea party in reading Brooklynaire by Sarina Bowen, but what a sweet sports romance! Who knew nerdy could be so sexy??

A sexy new standalone from USA Today bestseller Sarina Bowen.
You’d think a billion dollars, a professional hockey team and a six-bedroom mansion on the Promenade would satisfy a guy. You’d be wrong.
For seven years Rebecca has brightened my office with her wit and her smile. She manages both my hockey team and my sanity. I don’t know when I started waking in the night, craving her. All I know is that one whiff of her perfume ruins my concentration. And her laugh makes me hard.
When Rebecca gets hurt, I step in to help. It’s what friends do. But what friends don’t do is rip off each others’ clothes for a single, wild night together.
Now she’s avoiding me. She says we’re too different, and it can never happen again. So why can’t we keep our hands off each other?

I absolutely adored both Nate and Rebecca’s characters! I loved their witty banter, and they had such a fun and easy way about them from working so many years together. There was such a professional loyalty between Nate and Rebecca, and they avoided their attraction to each other not wanting to jeopardize it. They were just completely oblivious to even the possibility of a romantic relationship together, and the way in which their romance unfolded was super sweet!
The story was very well written, and I especially loved Bowen’s humor and wit, which she conveys so well. The truly quaint and creative storyline had me laughing and left me with a continuous smile on my face throughout. I loved the scrabble, Bingley’s silly jokes, and all the many other little nuances in the story as well! I don’t want to sound seriously stupid here, but I’ve never paid any attention to palindromes. Did I even know what they were? I don’t know, but how fun are they!
‘So. Cat Tacos?’
I really enjoyed this light, fun, and sweet sports romance! It was perfect as a standalone, or at least I didn’t know if I was missing out on any important details from the other books in this series. I am definitely looking forward to reading about the rest of the members of the hockey team in this Brooklyn Bruisers Series!
If Brooklynaire is still sitting on your ‘to be read’ pile like it was for me, this would be a great weekend read that I would highly recommend!
