We’re celebrating the release of Fauxmance, an all new contemporary romance, by L.H. Cosway!
It’s NOW AVAILABLE, so grab it today!
In this era of social media, we all pretend.
We pretend to be prettier, happier, more confident versions of ourselves, but not Ellen Grant. She takes it to a whole other level and pretends to be someone else entirely. Adopting the persona of a woman far more interesting is the only way she can break free of the socially awkward, romantically inept girl she really is.
And it’s all going swimmingly until she catches the eye of a man at her local coffee shop. Julian Fairchild has been noticing her for a while and he’s fascinated. Little does he know, the woman he thinks he’s obsessed with is a fake.
It’s not long before the jig is up, and Julian discovers Ellen’s true identity. However, he has a proposition. If she really wants to pretend, he can introduce her to a world where she can be anyone she wants. Ellen is intrigued by the prospect, and, blind to the nature of Julian’s profession as a male escort, closes her eyes and lets him lead the way.
Can Ellen keep her feelings in check while discovering a new world of thrills and excitement? And will Julian let it show that he isn’t entertaining Ellen purely out of the goodness of his heart?
Fauxmance is a standalone contemporary romance featuring characters first seen in L.H. Cosway’s Showmance.
Although it’s been awhile since I’ve read any books by L.H. Cosway, there’s really no particular reason why. I always enjoy how she truly brings her characters to life with their charisma, relatable flaws, and inspiring journeys. Her writing is so distinct, with incredibly unique storylines that consume me with emotion and capture my heart. Fauxmance is such a refreshing read, and this sweet romance is a perfect reminder of the many reasons why I fell in love with Cosway’s writing years ago!
Julian and Ellen’s characters were very engaging and grew so much throughout the story!
‘I invite you to meet Ellen Grant: hermit, tomboy, make-believe artist.’
I really enjoyed Ellen’s quirkiness, as well as her honesty in dealing with her awkwardness in social settings. She created her own little bubble in her home where she could relax and be carefree, but I loved how Ellen challenged herself by maintaining a part-time job to force her to still interact with people. She sought out a balance and normalcy and didn’t let her weakness define her. I was so impressed with Ellen’s courage in facing her challenges and happy that she had reached such incredible success!
‘Everybody was a little bit of a weirdo once you got to know them, and I relished discovering the weirdness inside each new client. Enjoyed facilitating them to live out their peculiarities with me.’
I adored Julian’s charming and easy-going ways! His character was magnetic, and I couldn’t help but be drawn in by his generous nature. Because Julian was so selfless, he was able to see past Ellen’s façade. He understood her and went above and beyond to help her see it too. I absolutely loved how Julian’s gentle encouragement helped inspire Ellen’s confidence and coax her out of her shell!
Watching Julian and Ellen’s ‘fauxmance’ blossom into a romance was addictive and oh-so-passionate! The dual point of views gave their complex characters such depth and really pulled on my emotions for them. Although both Julian and Ellen had secrets, their unveiling felt natural in the story as they developed trust and understanding between them.
I’ll admit that I did have some niggling thoughts regarding Julian’s career choice and Ellen’s easy acceptance of it. I think I would have more of an issue with that for sure, but since their relationship was built on acceptance and not judgement, it really worked for them in the story.
I really enjoyed that Fauxmance was so unique and super sweet! The story was very well written and in a way that can appeal to any reader, because to some extent, everyone shares similar insecurities. This was a wonderful follow-up to Showmance, and I really enjoyed seeing Rose and Damon’s characters again. Although Fauxmance can definitely be read as a standalone, I would still recommend reading both, because you don’t want to miss out on Rose and Damon’s passionate romance as well!
