~ Heart-Shaped Hack and White-Hot Hack (Kate & Ian 1 & 2)
by Tracey Garvis Graves ~
Release Date ~ August 28, 2015
~ Heart-Shaped Hack (Kate and Ian #1) ~
When Kate Watts abandoned her law career to open a food pantry in Northeast Minneapolis, she never dreamed it would be this difficult. Facing the heartbreaking prospect of turning hungry people away, she is grateful for the anonymous donations that begin appearing at the end of each month. Determined to identify and thank her secret benefactor, she launches a plan and catches Ian —a charismatic hacker with a Robin Hood complex—in the act.
Ian intrigues Kate in a way no man ever has. But after learning he’s snooped around on her personal computer, she demands retribution. Impressed with her tolerance and captivated by her spirit, he complies and begins to slowly charm his way past her defenses. Time spent with Ian is never boring, and Kate soon finds herself falling for the mysterious hacker.
But Ian has enemies and they’re growing restless. In the hacking world, exploiting a target’s weakness is paramount, and no price is too high to stop an attack. And when Kate learns exactly how much Ian has paid, she’ll discover just how strong her love is for the man who has hacked his way into her heart.
~ White-Hot Hack (Kate and Ian #2) ~
Their love story began in Heart-Shaped Hack. Join Kate and Ian for the thrilling conclusion in White-Hot Hack…
When cybercriminals doxed undercover hacker Ian Bradshaw and forced him to flee, he begged Kate Watts for forgiveness and vowed never to hurt her again. He also convinced her to marry him, and when their idyllic summer on Roanoke Island comes to an end, the newlyweds relocate to their new home deep in the heart of Virginia’s horse and wine country. Ian still struggles with boundaries, but he keeps Kate’s lingerie drawer filled with surprises, and there’s no shortage of number-six kisses. There’s even a fast, new car to replace his beloved Shelby.
Ian promised Kate that life with him would never be boring, but spending her days picking out paint colors and going to Pilates isn’t going to cut it. Meanwhile, Ian discovers that building a white-hat security firm from the ground up seems harder the second time around, and he might have underestimated how much he’d miss the undercover work he walked away from. To make matters worse, the hacktivists are threatening national security, and the task force could really use Ian’s help.
Kate and Ian have always worried that their past would catch up to them, and when faced with the biggest showdown of their lives, they must capitalize on the one thing they excel at most: teamwork. Ian claims no one is a better hacker than him, but in order to triumph, he’ll have to prove it. And if he can’t, he risks losing the woman whose heart he worked so hard to hack.
This is the second and final book in the Kate and Ian series. The first book, Heart-Shaped Hack, can be read as a standalone.

I’ve been in a bit of a reading rut lately, so I’ve been checking out a lot of new authors. Several of my book buddies have been telling me that I need to read On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves, but I didn’t feel like going to the beach. So, I decided to go with Heart-Shaped Hack instead, which quickly flowed into reading the second book in the series, White-Hot Hack. I absolutely adored them! They were both really light and fun reads, but I really enjoyed the mysterious undertones to the story as well!
There was so much personality to Kate and Ian’s quirky characters with their quick and fun wit between them. I loved how relatable they felt, and their romance was incredibly sweet. There were so many fun nuances to enjoy with their specially named kisses – definitely a fan of the number six…or maybe the number nine. Of course, I also loved the mention of The Carpenters, but the icing on the cake for me was how heartfelt Ian and Kate’s journey was.
I guess this ‘hacker’ romance trope is going to be one of my new favorites, because I really enjoyed the intriguing and mysterious combined hacker/social engineering storyline. The research that went into it had to be immense, because it was all conveyed so well and with so much detail. Kudos to Graves for doing such a fantastic job!
I initially wondered how much more there could be to Ian and Kate’s story going into the second book of the series, White Hot Hack. It was equally exciting, and Ian and Kate have definitely captured my heart!
Yes, I’m also going to say that I absolutely loved the covers in this series, which were so pretty and unique. I am so excited to have found a new author to love, and I really look forward to reading more by Tracey Garvis Graves!

~ Man Hands & Man Card (Man Hands #1 & #2) by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby ~
Release Date ~ August 25, 2015
~ Man Hands ~
BRYNN
At thirty-four, I’m reeling from a divorce. I don’t want to party or try to move on. I just want to stay home and post a new recipe on my blog: Brynn’s Dips and Balls.
But my friends aren’t having it. Get out there again, they say. It will be fun, they say. I’m still taking a hard pass.
Free designer cocktails, they say. And that’s a game-changer.
Too bad my ex shows up with his new arm candy. That’s when I lose my mind. But when my besties dare me to leap on the first single man I see, they don’t expect me to actually go through with it.
TOM
All I need right now is some peace and quiet while my home renovation TV show is on hiatus. But when a curvy woman in a red wrap dress charges me like she’s a gymnast about to mount my high bar, all I can do is brace myself and catch her. What follows is the hottest experience of my adult life.
I want a repeat, but my flying Cinderella disappears immediately afterward. She doesn’t leave a glass slipper, either—just a pair of panties with chocolate bunnies printed on them.
But I will find her.
~ Man Card ~
Nothing ventured, nothing banged…
ASH
I still don’t know how it happened. One minute I was arguing with my arrogant competitor–our usual trash-talk over who deserves the larger commission. But somehow I went from throwing down to kneeling down…
It can never happen again. I don’t even like Braht. He’s too slick. He’s a manipulating mansplaining party boy in preppy clothes.
So why can’t I get him out of my head?
BRAHT
There are two things I know without question. One: Ash and I are destined for each other. Two: never trust a man with a unibrow.
Ash is my missing my piece. She’s the sweet cream to my gourmet espresso. And nothing gets me going faster than her contempt for me. They don’t call her the Ashkicker for nothing.
Eventually I’ll win her over…if my past doesn’t ruin everything first.

I absolutely loved Man Hands and Man Card by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby! They were both freaking hilarious, and these ladies make for a terrific writing duo. The main and secondary characters were all so quirky and fun together, and each of the books had very unique storylines. Man Card also had more of a mysterious feel to it, which I enjoyed as well. Everything about these reads were so refreshing!
I listened to both of these on Audible, which I would definitely recommend. Luke Daniels and Erin Mallon were so charismatic and fun and really kept me consumed in the story!
There is one thing that for some reason I feel the need to mention… There was a lot of ‘dick’ talk from Tom’s point of view in Man Hands, and it just seemed odd to me. I guess my question would be, do they really ‘speak’ to their owners like that? Feel free to chime in, and I’ll be looking forward to the answer if my husband ever reads this!
I haven’t gotten to Boy Toy yet, which is the third book in the Man Hands Series, but I am definitely looking forward to reading it as well!

Excellent reviews Daisy! I still have to try these authors 😉
Thanks Sophie! I’m telling you, there are just so many out there!! I put myself on arc hold right now (mostly) to get to some of these I’ve been holding onto! It’s hard, but most of them have been a win, so I’m glad to get to them!
I’m a big fan of Tracey Garvis-Graves so I’m thrilled to see these two books are winners. I’m going to echo your friends…you MUST read On the Island! It is not a beach read and probably nothing close to what you think it is😊
I think I’m definitely going to now that I’m a fan, but you also have me very intrigued as well! 😁
Oh my gosh! I totally forgot about the dick talk in Man Hands!!! Luckily, it doesn’t go beyond that book. I’m happy you’re enjoying that series. I loved it! I also loved Heart-Shaped Hack. I should read the second book. I don’t know why I never did.
Great reviews!
Thank you and right?? It was so funny because I listened on audio and the narrator REALLY got into his conversions with his junior! 😂😂😂
Oh dear….
These all sound so cute!!! I feel like I’ve been in a bit of a reading rut myself… I just can’t seem to get motivated lately… Maybe a couple of cute trope filled romances are just what I need!! 💖💖
That’s kind of what I thought, and it worked for me. I’m also listening to Wait for It by Mariana Zapata. I’m not a huge audio fan, but this is a really good one! Maybe some audio to mix it up for you??? 😁
I was actually listening to an audio that I haven’t gone back to since I hit my slump… I think I should have kept my initial rule with audios, though… No fantasy… I find them too hard to follow most of the tjme in an audio form. I broke the rule and I paid for it. Lol!!!
Great review!! I haven’t heard about these authors but I guess I might check them out.
I hope you do and enjoy them too! I started reading Sarina Bowen earlier this year, and she has become one of my favorite authors as of late. I’ve loved everything I’ve read by her! 😁
