~ Mr. Mayfair (Audiobook) by Louise Bay ~

Narrated by Shane East & Saskia Maarleveld

Release Date ~ October 21, 2019

www.dgbookblog.com:Mr.Mayfair.Louise.Bay.Audio.Cover

It should be the most shocking news I’d ever gotten—My boyfriend is getting married.

Okay, technically he’s my ex-boyfriend. Two months ago he decided he wanted a break. I still thought he was my happily ever after.

On any other day, knowing he was gone for good would be the worst thing that could possibly happen.

But not today.

Because not only is my boyfriend getting married—his bride is my best friend.

And they’ve sent me an invitation.

There’s no way I’m going to attend. I don’t care if it’s in beautiful Scotland.

Nothing and no one could convince me.

Not even when a deliciously handsome stranger tells me he needs to go as my plus one.

Not even when he shoots me a wickedly, sexy smile.

But then he offers me the opportunity of a lifetime—a dream come true. How can I say no?

But I have one condition. He has to be my new boyfriend. I mean, my pretend new boyfriend.

I’m about to find out that faking it can be a whole lot of fun.

A stand-alone, contemporary romance.

Short Sweet 2020-08-31 at 11.16.04 AMMr. Mayfair by Louise Bay was such a cute, sweet, and really charming read! I absolutely adored the relatable characters and loved the dreamy setting of the story. Time and time again, Louise Bay proves herself as a wonderful storyteller, and I highly recommend the audiobook as the narration was fantastic as well!

~ Teardrop Shot by Tijan ~

Narrated by Savannah Peachwood & Dan Bittner

Release Date ~ August 13, 2019

www.dgbookblog.com:teardrop.shot.tijan.audio.coverI asked for his criteria for bed buddies-that’s the PG version.

He swore at me and said he didn’t do groupies. And just like that, our friendship was off to a great start.

Reese Forster was the starting point guard for the Seattle Thunder.

Gorgeous. Cocky. Loved by the nation.

He’s also attending preseason basketball training camp where I used to work.

Correction: where I work again, because I was fired from my last job.

And dumped.

And I might have a tiny bit of baggage, but that’s normal. Right?

Reese and I shouldn’t have become friends. We shouldn’t have become roommates.

And we really shouldn’t have started sleeping together … (Except we did.)

I’m adorably psychotic. He’s in the NBA.
This is not a disaster waiting to happen, at all.

Tijan is an author I’ve heard great things about and have been wanting to try out for quite some time now. I chose to start with Teardrop Shot, because it sounded like a fun read with its romance between a cocky NBA player and an adorably psychotic heroine. It was definitely that, but it also really touching too!

Charlie and Reese were very endearing characters, and boy, did Charlie have her quirks! I loved their characters together and how understanding Reese was with her. I’m also a huge sports fan and really loved that aspect of the story as well.

While the way that Tijan wrote for Charlie and Reese’s pasts to unfold throughout made the story unique, I also felt a bit lost at times as to what was going on. I also would have liked more of Reese’s point of view in the story as well. However, the ending totally won me over and had me completely tearing up with all the feels.

Overall, I just loved Teardrop Shot and look forward to reading more of Tijan’s works!

~ The F List by Alessandra Torre ~

Release Date ~ April 29, 2020

www.DGBookBlog.com:the.f.list.alessandra.torre.cover

There was a lot I did to get to this point, to get 42 million followers. Some of it I was proud of, most of it I wasn’t.

There was a group of us, all internet celebrities, and everyone wanted in, which is how six of us ended up living in this mansion, a camera always on, the public always watching. Two months and nine carefully scripted TV episodes that would get us more of the three F’s we were desperately chasing.

Fame. Fortune. Followers.

I knew my role. I was Emma, the unlikeable one. The dark villain with the devious smile. The package of dynamite that would blow up any chance of peaceful living and harmony.

Cash knew his role. He was the good guy. The lovable one. The one that everyone, even the darkest cast member of them all, would fall in love with.

They were supposed to just be roles.
None of it was supposed to be real.

My heart didn’t get that memo.

Short Sweet 2020-08-31 at 11.16.04 AMThe F List was a fun, quirky, and quick read! I really enjoyed the writing format and the storyline with the competitiveness in the social media world. Also, it had no sex, which was really surprising, because Torre can really write the steam. I would have liked to know more about Cash and Emma’s happily-ever-after, but overall, this was a very refreshing read!www.dgbookblog.com/DGBlogRatings4

~ Torn (All Torn Up #1) by Carian Cole ~

Release Date ~ November 15, 2016

www.dgbookblog.com:torn.carian.cole.audio.cover

When I was five years old I told Toren Grace I was going to marry him when I grew up.

When I turned eighteen I made it clear I still felt the same. The problem? He’s fifteen years older than me and he’s my father’s best friend.

Toren Grace. My father’s best friend. My pseudo-uncle.
He’s always been my rock. The one I should never, ever want.
But I do want him, and I love him.
I always have.

He loves me too.

Tor’s one of the good guys. Loving. Devoted. A strong moral compass. One kiss between us rocked him clear off his axis. Now we can’t forget how that kiss felt, and what it changed. Nothing will ever be the same between us.

I know he’s struggling with his feelings, but I’m determined. I’m not a little girl anymore, and we can’t deny we were meant to be together. The heart wants what the heart wants, and it doesn’t care about age or how we met. My father cares, though. And he’s the one person neither one of us can stand to hurt.

We’re all being torn apart, and I don’t know how to make everyone see that the wrongs are actually right.

** Torn can be read as a single book.**

Short Sweet 2020-08-31 at 11.16.04 AMI really enjoy Carian Cole’s writing, and Torn was a really good story. However, I wish I wouldn’t have listened to the audio, because it took me forever to listen to it all! The narrators’ voices sounded way more mature and almost kind of boring, so I felt a detachment to the characters overall. I am really looking forward to Asher’s story though and hope to get to it soon!www.dgbookblog.com/DGBlogRatings3www.dgbookblog.com:scrollbuythebookwww.dgbookblog.com:Mr.Mayfair.Louise.Bay.Audio.Cover
