I believe in love. It just doesn’t believe in me.
I date. I’m all for giving guys a chance. I’ve just never met the one.
Until on a spring morning in the English countryside, a tall, dark stranger emerges from the mist. Logan Steele is all tousled hair, hard chest and lips so perfect I want to reach out and touch them just to check they’re real. I’m sure that’s a thunderclap of chemistry I feel between us.
Did I mention he’s an Earl with a self-made fortune?
A billionaire who works tirelessly for charity?
And he’s so hot, watching him is like staring at the sun.
But like I said, love isn’t rooting for me.
When I find out Logan Steele is out to destroy everything I’ve dedicated my life to protect, the chemistry disappears and the hope that had blossomed my chest turns to rage.
It no longer matters that he quickens my pulse just saying my name, weakens my knees with a single touch and that he might just be the greatest kisser that ever lived.
I might believe in love but Logan Steele is definitely not the one.

Ever since I first met Darcy Westbury’s character as Ryder’s sister in Duke of Manhattan, I’ve always enjoyed her bubbly and kind character as a wonderful sister and true friend. I admired that she was single-handedly running her family’s estate and was eager for her to find her man and sweet happily after. What I didn’t realize was how feisty and strong-willed Darcy was! She was so resistant to change and clung to the security that she found in her little town of Woolton Village very tightly.
‘Darcy was like a fresh, floral breeze that had floated in and made every other woman I’d ever known seem like they were trying a bit too hard.’
Logan Steele was the perfectly charming man to help Darcy open her mind and see past her barriers. Although very successful, he certainly wasn’t the ruthless business man that everyone saw him to be, and in all actuality was very sweet. I loved how Logan adored his grandmother so much and wanted to give her back her childhood home of Badsley House, and I really admired how he contributed to children that had grown up like him.
‘But somewhere along the road, all the reasons I had not to fall for Logan Steele had drifted away. I couldn’t think of a man more perfect for me.’
Following Darcy and Logan’s enemies-to-lovers relationship through the story was a lot of fun! Both gave each other a run for their money with their no-nonsense ways, determined to not be caught up in their issues from their pasts. Darcy was so determined to protect both her heart and village from ‘weekenders’ like Logan who flew in on their helicopters and didn’t care about the small town like she did. She really went at him with her guns blazing, but Logan admired Darcy’s courage and was patient and also very determined to prove himself worthy. I did wish at times that she was a bit more affectionate towards him, however they simply could not resist each other no matter how hard they tried!
‘There was something magical about the English countryside on a spring morning.’
I just love Louise Bay’s writing! I completely fell into the beautiful scenic descriptions of the gardens of the Woolton and Badsley Houses of Woolton Village!
‘From the dew-covered spiders’ webs to the early sunshine encouraging the snow-drops and crocuses out of hiding until they were riotous blots of color that bloomed despite the odds of winter.’
Of course, I always love any travel to England in my reads, so that made for a dreamy escape as well. The story was very sweet, and the slow build to Logan and Darcy’s romance wasn’t overly angsty, which I really enjoyed as well.
The Earl of London is also connected with Bay’s other standalones, King of Wall Street, Park Avenue Prince, Duke of Manhattan, and The British Knight, and all of these unique and heartwarming stories can be read separately. The characters are imperfect, relatable, and genuine, and I have really enjoyed following these strong and successful corporate moguls as they have found their true loves and grown into one big family!

USA Today bestselling author, Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books include the novels Faithful and Hopeful, The Empire State Series, Parisian Nights, Promised Nights, Indigo Nights, King of Wall Street and Duke of Manhattan.
Ruined by bonk-busters and sexy mini-series of the eighties Louise loves all things sexy and romantic. There’s not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.
Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!
