School psychologists aren’t supposed to write books about sex. Doing so would be considered “unethical” and “a fireable offense.” Lucky for you, ethics was never my strong suit.

After spending years trying to spice up my sex life, I gave up and took to my journal. Perhaps my gorgeous, cold, number crunching husband simply wasn’t capable of the kind of passion I’d come to expect. After all, my ex-boyfriends—a skinhead turned US Marine turned motorcycle club outlaw, a baby-faced punk rocker out on parole, and a heavy-metal bass player—were every bit as tattooed and testosterone-fueled as the leading men in my favorite romance novels. If I couldn’t have that kind of passion again in real life, I could at least write about it. Right? Nobody had to know. It would be my little secret.

Christmas Dismisses.

So this year has definitely been a little different around our usually festive home. I have always loved to decorate the house for Christmas and courageously bring on the holiday season with love and joy. This year has hit me like a total brick to the face.  Now that we have transitioned into parents of teenagers, it seems as if EVERYTHING has changed. These young adults that I am living with aren’t the little cherubs that I once knew them to be. Excitement, enthusiasm, and participation have all packed their bags and left the building leaving me with a useless bunch of Bah Humbugs. Seriously, it’s like no one in this house cares this year, and unfortunately it has completely rubbed off on me and left me unusually quiet sitting in this seasonal slump…

My Review:

I have been so excited and anxiously awaiting this new release and initial book in Raine Miller’s new Blackstone Dynasty Series, and it has definitely been well worth the wait. This is such a sweet, passionate, and super sexy romance, and the charming wealthy billionaire Caleb Blackstone is impossible not to fall in love with!

Caleb Blackstone has everything any man could ever want and more.  He is handsome, wealthy, and very successful in running his family’s empire.  Although he has it all, he questions the one thing he is missing – a woman to keep his attention and worth building a future with.  Until he meets her… and then he just knows he’s found the one.  Brooke Casterley is undeniably beautiful, but she carries a sadness with her stemming from her tragic past in which she is fighting to overcome and rebuild anew. The attraction between Brooke and Caleb is instantaneous and seems to come so naturally to them both, but they come from two different worlds. Could Brooke be strong enough to survive in a world like Caleb’s? Could she find the courage to open up to love again?

Wife. Mother.Activity Juggler… You knew there was more to me right?

Almost a year ago when I started this blog, that is all that I was willing to share about myself with you. Anonymous is safe.  I can be myself without judgement. I’m not sure that anyone really ‘sees’ me in cyberspace, but the whole idea of my friends or extended family seeing the real me is mortifying. I feel like I am working so hard to reach others, yet I am working even harder to keep it separate from anyone I personally know.  My following is very small and slowly growing, and I am working with patience.

Now that my confidence is growing a bit, I think it’s time to open up anyway and share a little more about me…I am quite the conundrum…

This is my first read by Pepper Winters, and based on this book I am definitely a fan now! Although I have heard that many of her books are quite dark, I found this to be so refreshing and definitely unique. It took me on such an insightful journey and was beautifully composed of such an inspiring story of strength and the will to survive, passion, love, and acceptance.

Although almost against her will, Estelle Evermore has become an overnight success with her beautiful singing voice and lyrics from her heart to match. She is a tired and antisocial ‘homebody’, and desperate to get back to the comfort of her home and her cat.  Galloway Oak is a gorgeous man with a beautiful name, but more than that, he is desperately trying to be a better person.  He has a past full of wrong, and his new job awaiting him will provide an opportunity to redeem himself in his father’s eyes and a fresh start to his future.  They cross each other’s’ paths at the airport, and although Estelle comes across many possible signs she should avoid this flight, just like Galloway, they each have their reasons why they need to be on this plane. Little did they both know that the journey in which they were going to embark on together would change their views on what they considered to be home, their future, and their lives forever.
