Goodbye 2016 & Hello 2017 GiveAway!

Pigs are Good Luck Right?

2016 was a year of SO many changes in my life… pretty overwhelming to say the least. It wasn’t necessarily a bad year though. We are all healthy and very blessed, and I try to remind myself of that at every turn and kink in the road. There were a lot of accomplishments made and courage found throughout the year which rewarded me with getting to know many new and wonderful people. That was a pretty big deal to me.

I also had the opportunity to go on a lot of fun family adventures, and although we are a bit like the Griswolds, I still LOVE to travel. New York and Mexico, made for amazing getaways from all of the rigamarole!

The weather and scenery were simply amazing in Springfield, New York!

This crazy big guy followed our boat in everyday when we came back into the harbor from fishing!

So, a lot of the changes that took place this year happened with my family, and long lasting friendships and business avenues ended. It was hard to say the least, and it didn’t stop with just the big things either. Hell, I even got a new MacBook Air (help!) AND a new washing machine (yes, this one is lame I know). Being a planner and definitely a creature of habit, it seemed like everything everywhere really threw me off there for quite a bit. The emotions muddied my waters and left me a little stuck there for awhile, but now that my mind has cleared, I’ve decided to say ENOUGH!  It’s time to quit fighting the system, dust off my hands, and move on! It’s ok to have all these changes in my life, and I’m just going to hang on with a smile on this roller coaster of chaos.  I mean what else am I going to do about it anyway?

This was a great year for reading, and I came across a ton of five-star reads! I really tried to diversify my TBR list with new authors that I haven’t read before and found many new authors to love. Actually three of my top reads of the year were new to me authors and are now on my list of favorite ‘one- click’ authors!  As I look over my top picks now, it also seems as if it must have taken a heart-wrenching book of angsty twists and turns to snag my attention. Go figure.

Here are my Top 5 Reads of 2016:

Where Lightning Strikes (Bleeding Stars, #3)Where Lightning Strikes by A.L. Jackson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars / Review

Midnight LilyMidnight Lily by Mia Sheridan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars – I tried to give it 6, but that wasn’t an option!
